About the MGS6
The MGS6 EV is MG's mid-size electric family SUV, sitting above the MGS5 EV and focused on comfort and space. It starts at £37,995 and comes as SE Long Range, Trophy Long Range or the all-wheel-drive Trophy Dual Motor.
## Battery, range and charging
Every version uses a 77 kWh battery. Rear-drive SE and Trophy Long Range models are rated at up to 329 miles on the WLTP cycle. MG quotes 38 minutes for a 10–80% rapid charge across the range, and the car combines an integrated braking system with adjustable energy recovery, including one-pedal driving.
## Performance and driving
The Long Range models use a 180 kW rear motor, while the Trophy Dual Motor has 266 kW and all-wheel drive, cutting 0–62 mph to 5.1 seconds. Five drive modes are offered – Normal, Sport, Eco, Snow and Custom. The rear-drive cars stop from 62 mph in 36 metres, according to MG.
## Interior and space
Space is the big selling point. The boot holds 674 litres, rear-drive versions add a 124-litre front boot, and folding the seats opens up 1,910 litres. Trophy models get a 1.96-square-metre panoramic roof, heated and ventilated front seats, heated outer rear seats, suede-effect trim and an 11-speaker sound system.
## Technology and safety
A 12.8-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch driver display come with physical buttons for key functions, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Trophy versions add MG's first head-up display, a 360-degree camera, an electric tailgate and wireless charging. Euro NCAP awarded five stars, and seven airbags and adaptive cruise control are standard.
## Who is it for?
Families who need a big boot and long range for less than premium-brand money. Main rivals are the Skoda Enyaq, Kia EV5 and Tesla Model Y.
