About the EX2

The Geely EX2 is the brand's smallest and cheapest electric car in the UK: a 4.135 m five-door hatchback with a raised, crossover-style stance. It comes in three trims: Pro from £20,990, Max from £23,490 and Ultra from £25,490. That makes it one of the most affordable new EVs on sale.

## Battery, range and charging

The Pro has a 35 kWh battery with up to 156 miles of WLTP range and DC charging at up to 60 kW. The Max and Ultra get a 47 kWh pack, which raises the range to 214 miles and DC charging to 80 kW. A Type 2 charging cable is included.

## Performance and driving

Unusually for a small EV, the EX2 is rear-wheel drive. The Pro's motor makes 60 kW (about 80 bhp), so 0–62 mph takes more than 14 seconds. Max and Ultra models have 85 kW (114 bhp), which cuts that to about 11.5 seconds, and top speed is 81 mph. It is best suited to town and suburban driving rather than long motorway trips.

## Interior and space

The boot holds 375 litres, rising to 1,320 litres with the rear seats folded, and there is a 70-litre front storage compartment ('frunk'). That is a lot of space for a car this size. Geely counts 36 storage compartments in the cabin.

## Technology and safety

Every EX2 has a 14.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch driver display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 4G connectivity with 2 GB of data a month for two years. Adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-change assist and door-open warning are all standard. The Ultra adds a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, a heated steering wheel and heated front seats.

## Who is it for?

Budget-conscious buyers who want a practical, warranty-backed EV for local driving. Rivals include the BYD Dolphin Surf, Citroën ë-C3 and Renault 5.
